Comments from Editor/ proof reader, Graham Coles: ... "Your manuscript was really first class...I must admit that after working on it, I read it again for pleasure, as it was such a great story, and I love your characters, particularly Angard."
Doctor Dean Melton is a clinical psychologist and one day he gains a new patient, a very special and dangerous individual named Paul Black. At first the individual is very difficult to control, and more disturbingly he seems to exhibit telepathic ability.
Over the next few months the ugly man calms down and eventually Dean is able to get on good terms with the man, who chooses to call himself Angard. What follows after that is a learning curve that transforms Dean’s entire academic and personal perception of reality? Angard claims that he is a mind master from another dimension called Dimedia, where he was murdered and that in order to survive he was forced to use the body of a road accident victim (Paul Black) from our world.
At first Dean dismisses the claims as the ridiculous raving of a madman, but as time goes by Angard presents him with infallible proof, which even his closed academic mind cannot refute, and eventually, but reluctantly, he becomes totally convinced by Angard.
Angard explains that our dimension is becoming a threat to his own because as our minds develop we will eventually be able to see, hear and even read the thoughts of its occupants even as his own people can ours, which would in effect mesh the two dimensions as one causing horrific emotional trauma.
This the draconian Hierarchy of his own world will not allow and they have a plan to neutralize the minds of the people of our world, even if that means the ultimate extinction of our entire species. Angard does not agree with the Hierarchy’s murderous plan and he pledges his help to fight against them on our side. Upon the few rests the fate of billions of souls.
This unusual magical tale spans 3000 years and is suitable for adults and older children.
The story begins in the present day with the appearance of a horse. One look at it tells dowdy old Millicent that it is no ordinary animal and her assessment is confirmed when it suddenly vanishes. The Horse puts in several appearances after that and on one occasion it saves her life.
She is also visited several times by a warrior from ancient times and he delivers a strange message that she has to complete the circle. On the final visit he takes her back through time where she discovers her true and wonderful destiny as Queen Vandara.
The Scully family gain a new stepmother and stepsister. From the outset the stepsister is not accepted by the Scully children, because they can see she is nothing like them in appearance or personality. The Scully’s are big ugly and uncouth, while Doreen is pretty, petite, intelligent and refined.
To the Scully’s her most offensive trait however is her love of books, which she reads constantly, and they see it as confirmation of her snobbery.
Their initial dislike of her turns into vicious hatred and they plot ways to be rid of her; which even includes murder.
Her mother and stepfather realise there are problems, but not the true extent of the hatred and persecution Doreen faces and believe things will settle down and resolve themselves in time.
Meanwhile Doreen endures endless bullying and suffering at the hands of the hateful Scully children, and daily the cruelty escalates, and continues even into her adult life as a very successful business woman.
Eventually, when left with no other choice, the worm turns, which results in a decisive and horrific showdown.
