'Bookworm' - Book Review

Jan 17, 2014

Bookworm really surprised me, because initially the title gave me a false impression, leading me to think it would be tame and slow, but it turned out to be an action packed gripping tale of persecution hatred and horror, which both made me laugh and had me on the edge of my seat. This book is something special; I loved it and I am sure other readers will as well.

Bookworm is a kind of thriller/ horror/ soap, bordering on pornography in places; which suggests wide appeal? Clearly this author possesses the gift of knowing how to hold a reader’s interest from the first page to the last. Readers will be gripped by this brilliant action packed storyline just as I was, and I was pleased that it had a nice ending.

Bookworm is a very good story, easy to get into. I liked everyone in the book, even the disgusting Scully’s. But personally I would have killed off the entire revolting Scully family much sooner…but then it would have been a much shorter book I suppose? The book had a great ending which I loved a lot; as indeed I did the entire book…Brilliant.

Expect the unexpected: Humour, cruelty, rape and horror, and much, much more; fast paced gripping stuff – Awesome.

VANDARA - Book Review

September 5, 2012

Vandara is an awe inspiring journey through time which will have you believing in Goblins and Fairies! I loved Nidex and Hassag and even the evil stepchildren were great characters. In this book we find out the true use of Stonehenge and your imagination is not allowed to rest for a moment! This is a must read and you won’t be disappointed

The entire story was wonderful! The story just flowed beautifully smoothly from one time period to another. The section set in ancient times when she was Vandara appealed most to me because I love the mystical and the magical characters and I particularly loved the thought of human and Fairy getting together and producing a hybrid. Among my favourite characters were Nidex the fairy/human hybrid, and Hassag the old medicine woman. Because the story flowed so well it was a very quick book to read and all too soon it ended. I think I like this book at least as much as the author’s earlier book ANGARD, although very different they are both on a par as great reads, but maybe this is now my favourite?

This is a truly breathtaking and brilliant story from beginning to end. Fast paced and gaining momentum as the story progresses, this tale grabbed hold of me and carried me along from the very first to the very last chapter…I found it impossible to put this book down. What the heroine went through in both of her incarnations as poor old Millie and as brave Queen Vandara brought a lump to my throat at times and at the same time held me spellbound just like the sinister fairy folk that she saved the human race from. This story is different in the best possible way and I recommend it without reservation.

This unusual and uniquely imaginative tale awoke the depths of my imagination from the very first page and under its spell I was transported into a delightful world. Set both in the present and in the remote past it weaves its magic in a totally believable way. Indeed it is likely to actually have you believing in fairies. But do not imagine for one moment that these are the cute little creatures of childhood stories. I promise you that you will never think of them that way ever again; as one of the main characters said. “Fairies are not our friends!” This book is for adults, (Although older children will also love it) give it a chance and you will love it too: Absolutely Recommended.

Vandara has real charm: It is very well written, moving very smoothly between time zones and it certainly like nothing I have read before. I like the Vandara character very much indeed and see how easy it would be for the author to develop her character in future sequels and I sincerely hope sequels will follow. All of the characters in this book really are alive; in fact although I was seriously busy my work had to wait, because I found I could not put this book down.

'TULPA' Book Review

August 10, 2014

Tulpa is a great read with a surprising and clever twist. This book is very straight to the point and doesn't need all the unnecessary 'padding' you find in other books. All the characters are diverse and strongly portrayed, and I am sure you'll agree that the story contains elements of every genre. Give Tulpa a try, because I firmly believe it to be a must read for everyone.
This brilliantly clever and excellent novel had me breathless from beginning to end. It was a fantastic trip that I shall never forget. Hayden's horrific passing and the trauma Reece consequently suffered as a result, and the persecution at the hands of school bullies had me in tears. His adult life was equally eventful and had me filled with delight and wonder. As a result I was pinned in my seat by this story from the first to the last page, and wow what a brilliantly clever ending...More please I cannot wait!
I have just finished reading Tulpa and I loved it and everyone in it, except perhaps for Emily, but only because of her irritating self righteous personality; she seemed that real.

Tulpa as with Angard and other books by this author is fast paced, lacking the unnecessary waffle that many other books seem to have. If you want a book that flows swiftly and smoothly, is exciting and really different, then I think Tulpa would suit you very well.
Very enjoyable...vivid descriptions and characters...reminded me a little of the "The Sixth Sense,"... except Tulpa is better.
